THE THREE LINKED MEDITATION FESTIVALS OF FALL

As many of you know, in our meditation work we have begun to focus on the outbreathing cycle of the razor-edged loop. We have for many, many years been focused on building the antahkarana, the bridge in consciousness that links us as a meditating group—which is the only way we can be linked—to the Divine Plan. This is the invocative or inbreathing side of our meditation alignment. It is the first half of the bridge. The bridge, the antahkarana, is not complete until the disciple can use it in service. This is the evocative or outbreathing side of our work.

Some time ago, we began to focus our meditation work on the distribution side of this creative process. When we discuss and teach about meditation, we are generally concerned with our daily morning meditation work, and particularly the invocative alignment. However, as we grow more conscious of the Science of Invocation and Evocation, we begin to think more in terms of both group meditation and an energy loop that has both an invocative and an evocative aspect. I call this loop the Razor-edged Path. At the same time, the point of our work began to focus more on the third leg of the stool of discipleship—Service. Meditation and Study, as you know, are the other two legs. This generated a very gradual shift in our focus to give equal effort to the evocative or outbreathing aspect of the loop.

We have also, as an intrinsic aspect of the Science of Invocation and Evocation, been observing cycles of the Breath, which are greater than the cycles of our daily rhythm. Thus we have been focusing our meditative efforts around the cycle of the Zodiac as our Sun passed through the various constellations. We have observed this rhythm for many years through the public sponsorship of the Community Meditation Meetings during the highpoint of each cycle which is signified for us by the full moon.

Three Linked Meditation Festivals Of Spring
We have long called attention to the two major yearly cycles: the inbreathing cycle from Capricorn through Gemini and the outbreathing cycle from Cancer through Sagittarius. As we know, the work of the inbreathing cycle is initiated when the Sun enters Capricorn, usually on December 21st of each year. The cycle culminates at its highpoint in the festivals of Aries, Taurus and Gemini which we call the Three Linked Festivals of Spring, and leads “… to a prolonged spiritual effort which will affect the remainder of the year.” The Externalisation of the Hierarchy, p. 420

Three Linked Meditation Festivals Of Fall
The manifestation process of visioning, planning and developing the work to be done actually begins after the Taurus Festival and makes its first appearance in the etheric field during the Gemini Festival. The die is cast, so to speak, and the working out commences. The implementation process proceeds through the summer months and culminates in the 3 Fall Festivals.

This year, we will begin to focus our attention on the highpoint of the outbreathing cycle, which comprises the Three Linked Festivals of Fall—Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius. These three Festivals occur in the zodiacal signs that are the polar opposites of those in which we celebrated the three Spring Festivals and, as such, during those periods they are the field of reception for the incoming energy flowing through/from the Sun. This situation is reversed during the Fall Festivals.

Embodiment Festivals
The Fall Festivals are the Festivals of Embodiment. What is demonstrated during these periods is the degree to which the inflows from the Spring Festivals have been embodied, manifested, adapted, implemented in the form appearance of the Plan. A simple example of this reciprocity can be dramatically seen in the interplay this year between Capricorn and Cancer, the frequency out of which we have just moved. The impulsing energies of Capricorn are the mountaintop experiences of initiation, soul infusion, realization of some of the deeper aspects of brotherhood. The effect of the energy carried by those who have these experiences, as they turn to the work of salvation, “Lost am I in the Light Eternal, Yet on that Light I turn my back”, as it impacts the force field of Cancer is like leavening in the loaf of the separative consciousnesses of the masses.

When the sun enters Cancer, the embodied impact of those messengers of the Light on mass consciousness results in ever-rising levels of invocation for Light by the masses. The degree of invocative power that arises from the masses is indicative of the embodiment and success of the unfolding. This reciprocity plays out in a like manner as the sun moves through each of the signs.

Just to illustrate the evolving effectiveness of this Cosmic energy interchange system, we can all recall the power of the full moon meditation efforts in Capricorn, which occurred at the peak for the three year Solar Energy Wave Cycles. There have been a growing number of us who are reaching for, and participating to some degree in, that mountaintop experience.

This is manifesting in the explosive growth of group consciousness. This “leavening” resulted in what was perhaps the most notable thing about Cancer this year: the level and the power of the invocative cry of mass humanity being raised for Light, for freedom, dignity, honest government, just economic systems, recognition as human beings, safety from terror and so on. We saw and heard this invocative cry on our TV sets from virtually all sectors of humanity, in all areas of the planet: the United States, regarding healthcare and justice in government; Iran, in justice and power politics; several countries in Africa, for the simple basics of life such as dignity and safety and food, water and shelter; Mexico, Afghanistan and several other countries, for an end of corruption in government. This invocative cry was and is virtually worldwide, in every community, in every sector of human interaction including our relationship with the planet and the insistent and untiring call for dealing with global warming.

Humanity is demanding a better world on all levels.
As we begin to focus our meditation work more on the outbreathing side of the cycle, the factor of group embodiment and distribution of the energies we invoke has grown in importance. This year, as the embodiment cycle expresses more and more through group and intergroup efforts, we are initiating an intercommunity, that is, a unified effort on the part of the Esoteric Community, including all conscious and unconscious co-workers in the New Group of World Servers, to recognize and participate in the 3 Linked Festivals of Fall. Our intent is to create an intercommunity focus around these three festivals and to reaffirm the intercommunity observation of the 3 Linked Festivals of Spring.

We will be recognizing this cycle during our full moon meditation meetings at the Mount along with a number of other local and international groups.
